First, thank you to everyone out there for all your prayers and words of encouragement and support. We have been reading to Curtis messages from you all, and we have been letting him know about the large support group he has.
Curtis is still awaiting his surgery to have a gastric feeding tube (PEG) placed as well as a tracheostomy. Even though he has been on the schedule for the past three days, since it is not a high priority surgery, he has been bumped from the schedule for more pressing surgeries. Tomorrow he is scheduled again and we hope that he will finally have these things done.
Currently he is still in his coma state, but yesterday he opened his eyes again for a few minutes. It was great to see his blue eyes looking at me!!! Although he only had them opened for a few minutes, it was encouraging that this happened again. He is definitely looking better each day, and we know the healing is going to take some time. We are very hopeful that he will regain consciousness, and we are reminding him every day to wake up as soon as he can!

Dear Curtis and family,
Your Glen Rose family of friends continues to remember you in their hearts, thoughts, and prayers. My prayer is for continued progress for you, Curtis and peace for you all. Curtis, I was happy to see the picture of you as a man, as my memory is of the boy you were when we all were in square dancing lessons together! ;) I know you are surrounded by your loving, supportive family. Let their love, along with GOD's love, envelope you.
Sincerely, Kathy and the Moss Family

Curtis and family. When I first heard the news, I thought OH NO!! not laughing Curtis. I only think of you laughing and smiling. When you can laugh again, and you will, ask Sean and Renee to show you the video of you and Beau having a screaming match at your mom's. It should be on "World's Funniest Videos" because it is. Get well, laugh again. Love and Huggs from Texas Gmomma
Dear Linda, Sara, Renee and Tammie, and Curtis,
All of us, Clint and Jylyce, Steve and Shiloh, Dwin and I, our First Baptist church family, and so many people from all over Glen Rose are praying for you and for Curtis' healing. We think of you at all hours of the day and night and prayers are being lifted up for your strength and perseverance. Our God is such a miraculous, loving and healing God, as you have already witnessed. We will keep the faith that Curtis will be healed, and we will continue to pray fervently for his quick and truly miraculous recovery. We love all of you. Margaret
Linda or Renee, I received this from my brother today just after I sent you my note. He is a recovering drug user who has been clean now for three years and is doing great. He almost died once because of his using. Anyway, here is the email. I hope it will bless you.
A minister passing through his Church in the middle of the day,
Decided to pause by the altar
And see who had come to pray.
Just then the back door opened,
A man came down the aisle,
The minister frowned as he saw
The man hadn't shaved in a while.
His shirt was kind a shabby
And his coat was worn and frayed,
The man knelt, he bowed his head,
Then rose and walked away.
In the days that followed,
Each noon time came this chap,
Each time he knelt just for a moment,A lunch pail in his lap.
Well, the minister's suspicions grew, With robbery a main fear,
He decided to stop the man and ask him,'What are you doing here?'
The old man said, he worked down the road.
Lunch was half an hour.
Lunchtime was his prayer time,
For finding strength and power.
'I stay only moments, see,
Because the factory is so far away;
As I kneel here talking to the Lord,
This is kind a what I say:
'I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHERS FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.. DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS JIM CHECKING IN TODAY.'
The minister feeling foolish,
Told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man he was welcome
To come and pray just anytime
Time to go, Jim smiled, said 'Thanks.'
He hurried to the door.
The minister knelt at the altar,
He'd never done it before.
His cold heart melted, warmed with love,And met with Jesus there.
As the tears flowed, in his heart,
He repeated old Jim's prayer:
'I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHERS FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN. I DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY..
SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN TODAY.'
Past noon one day, the minister noticed That old Jim hadn't come.
As more days passed without Jim,
He began to worry some.
At the factory, he asked about him,
Learning he was ill.
The hospital staff was worried,
But he'd given them a thrill.
The week that Jim was with them,
Brought changes in the ward.
His smiles, a joy contagious.
Changed people, were his reward.
The head nurse couldn't understand
Why Jim was so glad,
When no flowers, calls or cards came,
Not a visitor he had.
The minister stayed by his bed,
He voiced the nurse's concern:
No friends came to show they cared.
He had nowhere to turn.
Looking surprised, old Jim spoke
Up and with a winsome smile;
'the nurse is wrong, she couldn't know,
That he's in here all the while
Everyday at noon He's here,
A dear friend of mine, you see,
He sits right down, takes my hand,
Leans over and says to me:
'I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, JIM,
HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP, AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN.
ALWAYS LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY,
I THINK ABOUT YOU EACH DAY,
AND SO JIM, THIS IS JESUS CHECKING IN TODAY.'
